Abstract

Muslim women face a double standard of economic and social challenges. On the one hand, their education and skills are seen as valuable assets for family and community development, and they are expected to contribute economically. On the other hand, they face social disapproval and conflicting demands, such as balancing professional roles with traditional expectations, which can lead to difficulties in maintaining Islamic norms in the workplace. Contemporary Muslim women face multiple economic challenges due to traditional gender roles, limited access to education and employment opportunities, and legal and social barriers. While many women strive for financial independence and self-reliance, they often face obstacles such as cultural expectations, inadequate support systems, and legal limits on property rights and inheritance.
